Notes: This is one of the largest freshwater turtles in the world and is in fact the largest s:"freshwater" s:"turtle" in North America. It is a larger relative of the common snapping turtle. It ranges primarily in southern U.S. waters. They wiggle their bright pink toungue to attract fish. They have powerful jaws that can crush through even bony scales.
